Alleppey has long been known as the Venice of the east. Located in the south of India, on the Arabian Sea, the city enjoys a good weather all year round, with mild temperatures. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from August through March.

Today the town is popular among foreigners who want to do a backwaters tour.
