2/30.- Madurai, Sree Meenakshi Temple

The Sree Meenakshi Temple is located in the center of the town. In the area there are many hotels, from budget to luxury.

You can get to the temple on foot from most hotels in town. Taxis and rickshaws are a good way of moving around Madurai too.

There are four gates to the temple, each one with a Gopuram, or temple tower. In the picture you have one of the gate's Gopurams.
