2/22.- Tegernsee, Tegernsee Abbey

The town of Tegernsee was born around the Imperial Abbey of Tegernsee, in the picture. The monastery was founded in the 8th century, and soon it became the most important Benedictine monastery in the region.

In order to get to Tegernsee you can take a direct train from Munich (about one hour), or drive (take A8, exit at Holzkirchen and follow the signs to Tegernsee).
