3/27.- Holland, Stereotypes (3)

Clogs (“wooden shoes”) are no longer the standard footwear in Holland, far from it. But they are still worn on farms, where they protect the dairy farmers’ feet from the cattle’s hooves. The clogs shown here are plain, but there exist decorated varieties -- though perhaps not so loudly decorated as some that can be found in the souvenir shops.
