11/27.- Zealand, Veere

The small, picturesque town of Veere was hit hard by the 1953 flood, but has managed to survive handsomely, displacing its focus of interest from fishery towards tourism and pleasure yachting as many of the estuaries in the Zealand delta have now become safe tidal lakes lending themselves particularly well to sailing and yachting, an activity naturally popular to the Dutch which also attracts a lot of foreign tourism.
