This island was discovered by Gerlache's Belgica.
Expedition of 1897 - 1899 and was named after a vice-Admiral in the French Navy. This small rocky island is covered with a large gentoo penguin colony of approximately 4,800 pairs. There was a lot of snow on the island, but we manage to walk from one side to the other to see the different views.
