From Port Lockroy one sends post cards with Antarctica stamps and it takes about one month to reach anywhere in the world. It was a fantastic afternoon to sit around the paddle beach and observe the gentoo penguins swimming and interacting with each other. That evening the 3 staff from Port Lockroy came on board for a shower and joined us for dinner. It was nice to hear their polar experiences. In the past we had only seen 2 men staying during the summer at Port Lockroy and this year there was also a young lady with a lot of Antarctica experience.
