26/41.- Antarctica, Lemaire Channel

Menu

After dinner, we started making our way south to Lemaire Channel. It was exactly midnight when we finally reached the channel. Several of us stayed on deck watching our ship breaking ice and seeing that magnificent view of this famous 11 Km long and 1 and a half wide passage running northeast to southeast. It separates Booth Island from the Antarctic Peninsula. This is also called the Kodak corner of Antarctica. It was fascinating being outside for so long to listen to the ship sailing through the sea ice.
