We are back in the Praça Tomé de Souza, the starting point of our virtual tour. It is here that the lift that goes to Cidade baixa is. The lift fee is unbelievably low. Usually there are short queues, but the lifts runs quickly, and so does the queue.
Salvador is divided into two neigborhoods, Cidade Alta and Cidade Baixa. In Cidade Baixa (Lower City) you find the port, residential buildings and a souvenir market. In Cidade Alta (Upper City) you find the historical center with its colonial houses and churches.
