You can get to the Barra district by taxi from Cidade Baixa, the price of the two way taxi ride will be approximately the same as that of the tourist bus. I would recommend the taxi, because with the tourist bus you will only have 10 minutes to visit the lighthouse in Barra. The ride with the tourist bus is of no interest.
