Manuel Antonio is home of unique flora species too. Some of the most noticeable trees in the park are the balsa, the eucalyptus, the black locust, the monkey's comb and the bastard cedar in the secondary forest; and the maria cedar, the guapinol, the guacimo colorado and the pilon, in the primary forest. In the manglars you find mangle colorados, botoncillos and mariquitas. The beach vegetation consists mainly of coconut trees, almond trees and manzanillos.
Some of the local trees' fruits are poisonous. Refrain from eating any of them.
