In this picture you can see another of these prehistoric creatures. It is almost a miracle that they have survived for so long. Crocodiles used to be very common around Jamaica, but currently they can only bee seen here, and in two other spots. Overfishing, hunting and the destruction of their natural environment have decimated the number of crocodiles.
An adult Jamaican crocodile --or alligator-- can be more than twelve feet long. Almost no crocodile attains this size, most of them die before becoming old.
