What a view! We are at the top of the World! Well, not at the top top, but almost. The Annapurna Range is more than 40 km large, its highest summits are the Annapurna I (8078m - 26,500 ft) and the Annapurna II (7937m - 26,040 ft), and all other surrounding summits are at least 7000 meters (23,000 ft) high! Annapurna was the first 8000 ever climbed. That was back in 1950, when Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal got to the summit and began the Himalaya expeditions golden age.
