Two monks are climbing the 309 steps to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. This temple, which you can also reach by funicular, is high above the plain where Chiang Mai is located. Legend has it that 600 years ago relics of the Buddha were put on the back of an elephant, and where the elephant stopped was where the temple was built.
