Another of the highlights of the Summer Palace is the Marble Boat, which was built in 1893. Next to it are the dragon boats, which can take you through the 17-arch bridge.
If you come to the Summer Palace during the warm months you can rent one of the boats, and take a ride across the lake for a while. If you come in winter, you may skate, and in January you will find ice sculptures!
Not far from the Summer Palace there are a couple of places you may also want to visit, the Temple of the Azure Clouds and the Temple of the Sleeping Buddha.
