This Buddhist Lama Temple belongs to the same sect as the Dalai Lama, the Yellow Sect of Buddhism. This is an active temple. When you visit, especially if there is a lunar celebration, you will find plenty of followers praying and burning incense. You may even see some of the monks who live in the lamasery.
The temple is also famous for its 3-storey high Buddha statue, which is featured in the Guinness Book of records as the largest Buddha statue carved from a single tree.
