34/46.- Beijing, Financial District

Menu

This is a picture of the financial District in Beijing. Although Shanghai is considered the Business and commercial capital of China, many multinational corporations have their headquarters in Beijing. Contact with the Chinese administration is always easier and faster in Beijing.

In this area you also find some of the most upmarket hotels in Beijing. But unless you are coming to Beijing on a business trip, you should look for accommodation somewhere else. This area is quite far from Beijing's tourist attractions. Look for hotels in the Wang Fu Jing Street with Dong Chang'an Avenue area. Note that although the range of accommodation in Beijing is quite varied, prices are not. Most hotels in Beijing range from expensive to very expensive. If you are looking for a better deal, look for a serviced apartment. Some of them offer the same services as a hotel, at much cheaper prices. In Beijing you can also find some Youth hostels.

In the areas with expensive hotels is where you find the posh fashion shops in Beijing. Almost all exclusive brands have a store in the capital of China. Most of their customers are locals, though. Prices are higher here than in Europe and America.
