Half an hour before sunset you will get to the sand dunes from where you will see the sunset. The area where the dunes are is rather small, the rest of the desert is rocky. In this area you will meet many other tourists, maybe hundreds of them, who also came to see the sunset.
Ask your guide to take you to a remote place. The area where the tourists buses are is usually overcrowded.
If you do not want to ride the camel, but want to see the sunset in the desert, you can join one of the jeep or bus tours. I can assure you that the sunset in the desert is awesome.
