27/50.- Tokyo, Odaiba, Rainbow Bridge

Menu

Odaiba is the district in the Bay of Tokyo formed by artificial islands. The first islands was built in 1853 in order to protect the city from sea attacks. In 1928 more islands were added.

Odaiba was remodeled in the 1980's, when many state of the art buildings were constructed. Unfortunately, the 1990's crisis brought the area into oblivion. In the late 1990's Odaiba was born again thanks to the change in local law that allowed the construction of entertainment and shopping complexes. Since then, people from Tokyo discovered its seaside.
