From the airport of Legazpi there is a great view of Mayon Volcano. This is the most active volcano in the Philippines. Since 1616 it has erupted more than 40 times, the last eruptions were in 2000 and 2001.
The area is a National park, and is popular among climbers and campers. In order to get to its summit, 2421 meters or 7,900 feet, you need about four days. The best season is from March to May.
