The main reason for coming to Malapascua is to see the thresher sharks. They can be spotted in Monad Shoal, a dive site about 45 minutes by boat from the island.
Dive tours to Monad Shoal start before dawn, around 5 AM, on the island's main beach. Note that in order to dive here you need to have, at least, the Advanced certification.
