Villeneuve lez Avignon is the name of the town constructed around the Abbey Saint André. This Abbey was founded in the 6th century on the Mont Andaon. Some centuries later, this town became the residence of popes, cardinals and prelates of the Avignon Court.
This beautiful town is small enough to be visited in one day, but a longer stay is also recommended.
