As you can see in the photo, although Bordeaux is located by the Atlantic Ocean, the city has a Mediterranean atmosphere. Locals like to meet in the streets.

Let's see, there are four families of red wines, and two of white wines. First the red wines. 'Côtes de Bordeaux', these are fine bouquet wines light to medium bodied --Cotes means vineyards on the hillsides. 'Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur', these are always the best value, ready to be drunk young. 'Libournais', soft and fruity that can be drunk young, but that should be aged to enjoy at their most. 'Médoc and Graves', are among the most prestigious wines in Bordeaux, after a long aging they offer the richest and most complex flavors in Bordeaux.

There are two families of white wines. Sweet White Wines, these are medium and full bodied wines. Dry White Wines, there are two categories, the light and delicate, and the full bodied aged in oak.
