It is time to learn some Hungarian, don’t you think? This is something I should have done before departing, unfortunately I didn’t do it. Although many young people speak English or German, most of the population only speak Hungarian. Here there are some words you should remember:
- Hello/Good Bye = Jó napot/Szia
- Yes/no = Igen/Nem
- Please = Kérem
- Thank you = Köszönöm
- Excuse me = Elnézést!
- Good morning = Jó reggelt
- today = ma
- I don’t understand = Nem értem
- Do you speak English/German? = Beszél angolul/németül?
