The delimitation between the old and the new town takes place in the square that gets its name from the church of the four Christian Martyrs decapitated by Turkish troops in 1824 on this site. Close by a former Ottoman cemetery was transformed into a public park which main attraction is a small zoo with birds and Crete's native goat kri-kri. The parking lot across the public park becomes on weekends, agora, the open market of the town with fresh produce and bargain goods.
