36/46.- Bassin de Thau, Saint Thibéry, Church Tower

Menu

Saint Thibéry itself was the home of a Benedictine abbey, where several Councils were held. The 16th-century bell tower bears the scars of various successive demolitions and additions, but is still an impressive monument. It used to offer a refuge to the mentally ill who came to Saint Thibery to kiss the Saint's relics in the hope of being healed.
