The Bar de la Marine is famous because it was the scene of Marcel Pagnol's plays where the characters Marius, Fanny and César would meet. The restaurants along the harbour serve bouillabaisse, a spicy fish stew, while the thing to drink in the cafés and on the terraces is an aniseed apéritif called pastis.
