The most spectacular sight in Lagos is the Ponta da Piedade, which protrudes far into the Atlantic and offers a plunging view onto the cliffs and the surrounding sea, in which, if you are lucky, you can see dolphins cavorting not far from the beaches. A staircase hewn out in the cliffs leads to a small pier from where small boats tempt the tourist to visit the grottoes that the sea has carved in the cliffs.
