What it used to be a quiet, beautiful and peaceful city has become an industrial and commercial capital. It still preserves part of the provincial flavor, but since the 1960’s the city has undergone a fast industrialization. Several factories have been built in the region, and its harbor has become one of the biggest in the Mediterranean Sea.
