In this photo you can see a fish stand in this popular market. Local fish is exceptionally good. If you ever come to Alexandria, you should not miss the opportunity to eat in one of the local sea food restaurants.
Another thing you should not skip in Alexandria, is a visit to one of its museums. The most famous of them is the Greco-Roman Museum, located near Gamal Abdul Nasser Road. In its 25 galleries, you will find more than 40,000 pieces. Some of the most important works are: the busts of Alexander the Great (room 6), the Apis bull found at the Serapeum, a mummified crocodile, red granite statues of the Greek-Egyptian period, a statue of Mark Aurelius and the two only remaining images of the lighthouse of Alexandria.
If you still have some free time, you can also visit the museum of Fine Arts, with exhibitions of contemporary artists. Or the Royal Jewelry Museum, in the Palace of Fatma el-Zahara, with some paintings, statues and a collection of jewels of the Mohamed Ali dynasty.
