41/41.- Alexandria, bay

Menu

This will be the last photo of our Photographic Tour. I took this photo from my hotel room. You can see part of the beautiful bay of Alexandria. If you ever come to this city in the North of Egypt I recommend a hotel by the sea. Seeing this beautiful view after waking up, will give you energy for the entire day. Alexandria is a very interesting city, if you want to come here you will need at least a couple of days. If you have more time, you will be able to see many thing you will have to skip in a quick visit. Particularly recommended are some of the villages in the nearby area.

Some of the more important locations in the area include: Abusir, with ancient ruins from the Ptolemaic times, a Christian church and an Arab tower. Agami, the Egyptian st-Tropez with its small French fort. El Alamein, where the WW II battle of el Alamein took place. El-Dikheila, where the monastery of Enaton sits. Mersa Matrouh, with one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean sea. Rosetta (Rashid), where the famous Rosetta Stone was discovered in July 1799. And, Sidi Abdel Rahman, a small Bedouin village with virgin beaches.

Well, this is the end of our tour. I hope you enjoyed it! it was a pleasure to be with you. Thanks.
