local cuisine, as in the rest of Egypt, is (in my opinion) not exceptional. There are only a few courses: the kebab, the kofta, the kushari (pasta) and some fish courses. In the center of Luxor you will find many restaurants. Prices are really low and quality is acceptable.
If you need a place to sleep, you don't have to worry: you do not have to look for a hotel, the hotel will find you. Whether you come by plane, train or bus, someone will ask you if you need a hotel room before you have time to say anything.
Luxor has an international airport, and many tourists come straight to Luxor from abroad. If you need to come to Luxor from Cairo or from another Egyptian city, you should take the train.
