Walking from Piedade Square in the direction to the center, you will see the church of São Bento da Bahia.
The Igreja de São Sebastião and the Mosteiro de São Bento were built at the end of the 16th century. The monastery houses a library, with more than 35,000 volumes, and a Benedictine museum.
