Another of the buildings in the Plaza Municipal is the Iglesia de San Nicolas, the only church in town that has preserved its original form. Today it hosts a diocesan museum.
The most convenient way of reaching San Cristobal is by plane, through Tuxtla Gutierrez new airport, from where you can take a taxi to San Cristobal. Alternatively, you can get to San Cristobal by bus from many Mexican cities, and from Guatemala.
