This station is one of the best samples of late Ottoman architecture in Damascus. It was originally built to serve as the main train station in the city. Unfortunately it was bombed by T. E Lawrence and its Arab allies a few years after its completion during the WWI. Today the building hosts a library and an exhibition hall.
