16/37.- Palmyra, Hypogeum of the Three Brothers

Starting in the first century AD, the tombs were built underground. There are several of these tombs in Palmyra. The most famous of them is the Hypogeum Tomb of the Three Brothers, named after the three sarcophagi of the brothers that lay within.

Inside the tomb visitors can see the frescoes and the relieves that decorated the walls of the chambers. Unfortunately photography is not allowed inside the tomb.
