In Naples youll find many references to religion. Most of the churches and religious constructions belong to the Baroque and Rococo style, but there are also some interesting medieval samples, which reflect the importance that this city had during this period.
Naples was a meeting point for artists in the middle age, among others Giotto lived here from 1329 to 1333, but unfortunately non of his Napolitan works is preserved. But dont worry, in Santa Maria Donnaregina youll find wonderful frescoes by Pietro Gavallini (a Giottos contemporary artist). In this church there are also works of Tino Camaiano, the 14th century most important sculptor.
