Now you have seen the sights : the boats, the houses, the harbour and the cliffs. But what makes a life of a village is not the wood and bricks, but the people. So I thought I'd show you the faces of some of the people in Camaret and its vicinity. Breton people are friendly and welcoming. The families often have a past in fishery, sailing, or agriculture. Many men still have a boat, and the women will still prefer fresh fish, collected from the fishermen on the quay, to the frozen supermarket products. On a market day, people will flock together on the market place (almost regardless of the weather) not just for their purchases, but also to meet neighbours and friends.
