Good walking shoes will be your best friend on this trip. The waterfront is downhill, but don’t forget, you’ll have to climb back up! The summer months are best to be avoided due to the heat and to the endless streams of people. Even in April, when we were there, the top tourist spots of Pompeii, Capri and Amalfi were filled with bus tours and happy -go-lucky people slurping on gelato. Where did all the Italians go?!
