Fra Angelico (Fra Giovanni da Fiesole) was born in 1387 in Vicchio (Fiesole, not far from Florence). He lived in the San Marco Monastery, where he left some of his more important works.
Giotto, was born Angelo di Bondone in 1266 in Florence where he died in 1337. He is the author of the frescoes in the Cathedral tower and in Santa Croce. He opened a new artistic way. His pictures are not static anymore, they are full of feelings.
