The city of Orleans is also famous for its university. With its more than 17,000 students and 4,000 researchers the town's four faculties and two Engineering Schools are among the most prestigious in France.
Recently the neighboring city of Tours is stealing part of the leading role in the region, though. Cultural and night life are much more active there.
