This picture was taken early one morning (well, before ten, anyway), when strolling along the beach seems to be a more popular activity than lying down to bask in the sunshine. Here as elsewhere in Algarve, stretches of beach alternate with cliffs. The beaches are beautiful, and split up into concessions on one side, where deck-chairs can be rented, and free zones, where people are allowed to plant their own beach umbrellas.
