The whole story of São Lourenço is illustrated by panels of azulejos – painted tiles – on the church walls. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures, but one panel is visible on the outer East wall of the small sanctuary. It shows São Lourenço holding the grid on which he was burnt alive.
