This is the most beautiful of the sculptures you can find inside Saint Peter’s Basilica: the Pietà of Michaelangelo. He carved this sculpture when he was only 25.
Unfortunately it's difficult to appreciate the details of the sculpture, because for security reasons, it lies at a certain distance behind a bullet proof glass.
