Pizza is nowadays considered a national heritage in Italy. It was invented in a restaurant in Naples. The story of the Pizza is another sample of the American "imperialism". Because thanks to the Americans the Italian Pizza is now known world wide. It seems you have to succeed first in the US to be accepted in other countries. I guess 2000 years ago it was all the contrary, you had to succeed first in Rome to be accepted in the colonies.
You can eat the Pizza in the restaurants, but you can also taste the Pizza in many street shops, where you can buy pizza "al taglio" --small sections of pizza.
