This is another view of the previous Island. North of Venice stretches the "Lagoon", with some interesting islands you shouldn’t miss (if you ever come to Venezia).
With a Vaporetto you can visit Murano, since 1292 famous for its glass; Burano, the fishing village; and Torcello, where you’ll find some of the finest mosaics in Italy and a Byzantine Cathedral.
Another Island you shouldn’t miss is the Lido, famous for its Casino, Its Film Festival and for being the setting of Thomas Mann’s ‘Death in Venice’.
