San Zeno is one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in the world, and one of the jewels of Veronas heritage. The current building was constructed in 1120 and it is the third reconstruction of the basilica, the first one was a 4th century work and the second a 9th century. The building was finished at the end of the 14th century, when the Gothic ceiling and the apse were added.
