Nowadays Alexandria is a mixture of old and new traditions. Some vegetables sellers still use a donkey to pull their car and use the traditional clothes (like the one in the photo), but Western forms are gaining ground.
There is a big difference between young and old people. The younger generations wear Western clothes, drive cars, have mobile phones and listen to Western music; while the older generations are still faithful to the local traditions. This is evident everywhere in Egypt, but more noticeable in the big cities (Cairo and Alexandria).
