In Alexandria there are some nice beaches, but if you have enough time, you should not miss the exceptional beaches in the nearby villages.
The Northern coast of Egypt, from Alexandria to Mersa Matrouh, is one of the less exploited areas in the region. Although tourism is developing fast, currently you have the chance to enjoy some of the cleanest and most unspoiled waters in the Mediterranean sea. About 150 km West from Alexandria sits the beautiful bay of Sidi Abdel Rahman, with several private villas and hotels. 100 km more to the West sits Mersa Matrouh, with its long white sand beach and its crystal clear waters.
