Spooky place to peek into. In the 1860’s Giuseppe Fiorelli discovered that mounds of ash contained the moulds of those who perished. Inspired by this, Fiorelli duly poured plaster into these moulds. And voila! He was left with casts of dead bodies. Whether we really want to or not, we are just drawn to these casts, and as we stare in amazement we envision the horror the people must have suffered.
